  • Patrick M. Broussard, C.P.G. 9086 - patb@iconenv.com

Pat has been conducting professional environmental and geological projects since the early 1980's. Prior to joining ICON, Pat operated his own consulting firm in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Pat provides an unsurpassed wealth of knowledge of sampling and environmental data acquisition. Pat was invited by the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality Solid Waste Division to lecture at the Solid and Hazardous Waste Conference in April 1997 on "Utilizing Geophysical Logging for Subsurface Geology". Pat has designed and patented a suite of soil and groundwater sampling tools ("Missing Link") designed to obtain discrete samples within boreholes or by direct push technology. Pat has also designed and implemented innovative direct push monitor well installation for the Navy in Mayport, Florida. Pat is also an expert at evaluation of existing monitoring well networks and routinely performs through-casing evaluation of geology and well construction, video well surveys, and state-of-the-art plugging and abandonment of wells in contaminated environments. Pat is the primary choice for many oil and gas exploration companies when it comes to assessing injection well breaches that require deep well assessments.

Greg is a geologist and project manager with over twenty years of professional experience in the Gulf Coast and northeastern United States area. He has extensive experience in all aspects of groundwater sciences, including project planning, field methods, data evaluation, report preparation, modeling, predictive analysis, fate and transport analysis, regulatory liaison, and project management. Greg is routinely involved with evaluations of hydrology and geochemical interaction of vadose zone, surface water, and groundwater regimes. He has commonly developed and implemented innovative field characterization methods. Greg is routinely called upon for Expert Witness Testimony in a variety of litigation cases involving both plaintiff and defendant complaints.

Our staff has grown, enabling ICON to efficiently handle a variety of projects. Some of our key personnel include:

  • Lamar Melder, Senior Geologist - lmelder@iconenv.com

Lamar has been conducting professional environmental and geological projects since 1994. Prior to joining ICON in February 1998, Lamar gained experience in the private consulting, coal mining, and governmental industries. Lamar's organizational skills allow him to conduct and manage projects in an effective, timely, and cost control manner. His experiences include: site investigation and remediation projects; Risk Evaluation and Corrective Action Planning (RECAP); both plaintiff and defense litigation support, conducting borehole geophysical, electromagnetic, NORM, GPS, and asbestos surveys; solid waste permitting issues, and regulatory and client liaison. Lamar has performed both field and reporting activities associated with all of these types of projects since 1994. He now manages all aspects of them and also serves as a mentor to junior staff scientists on these projects.

  • J. Wayne Prejean, Jr., P.E., Senior Environmental Engineer - wprejean@iconenv.com

Wayne has been a consulting engineer since 1999. He is experienced in all aspects of site assessment, remediation design and implementation, site closure, statistical data evaluation, solid waste permitting and regulatory compliance, fate and transport analysis and modeling. Wayne manages all aspects of Risk Evaluation and Corrective Action Planning (RECAP), as well as all OPA 90 and SPCC planning and compliance. He is responsible for planning, design and installation of soil and groundwater remediation systems, management of site remediation activities, treatment system operation and maintenance, and cost control. He performs statistical trend analysis and interpretation, data regression, and QA/QC analysis of groundwater monitoring data for multiple clients and routinely manages large databases. Wayne has represented clients as a regulatory liaison to several regulatory agencies, and provided technical knowledge in support of plaintiff and defense litigation. His organizational skills and attention to detail allow him to perform projects in an efficient, cost-effective manner.

  • John Hebert, Project Engineer - jhebert@iconenv.com

John has been with ICON since 2000 as an environmental engineer. He has conducted subsurface assessments at many types of facilities, including UST facilities, production sites, chemical plants, oil refineries, petroleum pipelines and compressor stations, and manufacturing facilities. The majority of his experience is a result of fieldwork of varying and multiple activities ranging widely from initial subsurface assessments to post-remediation monitoring. He is experienced in multi-media (soil, water, groundwater, air) environmental sampling. He is experienced in conducting surface geophysical surveys, and has of 10 years experience as an AutoCAD designer. His knowledge of field activities, logistics, and common complications and solutions remain an asset while managing projects.
